Couplings belong to the category of general mechanical parts. They are used to connect two shafts (active shaft and driven shaft) in an unused mechanism. They refer to mechanical parts that transmit torque through rotation. In high-speed, heavy-duty power transmission, some couplings also have the function of buffering, damping and improving the dynamic performance of the shafting. The coupling is composed of a cold mixing part, which is respectively connected with the driving shaft and the driven shaft. In the shaft transmission of mechanical products, the commonly used connecting component is the coupling, and most of the general power machinery is connected with the working machine through the coupling. At the end of the 20th century, coupling products at home and abroad developed rapidly. For most designers, how to choose a coupling that meets the requirements of the machine from a variety of couplings with different performance has always been a difficult problem in product design.Common couplings include plum blossom couplings, diaphragm couplings, cross slider couplings, pendent gear couplings, universal couplings, star-shaped elastic couplings, elastic couplings, and so on.

Forging is divided into manual free forging and mechanical free forging.Manual free forging has low production efficiency and high labor intensity, only for maintenance or simple, small batch production. In modern industrial production, non-mechanical forging has become the main method of forging production and plays an important role in heavy machinery manufacturing.

The material of the coupling forging shall have an inspection certificate. If a substitute material is needed, the buyer’s consent shall be obtained and written documents shall be provided.Forgings should be forged on hydraulic or sufficient tonnage forging hammers, and forgings should have sufficient forging ratios, so that the full-section forging is thorough, and a uniform structure can be obtained. The axis of the forging should be equivalent to the centerline of the ingot.Forgings shall be forged from ingots or billets.Forging of flakes is allowed, and generally should be heat treated separately.

Heat treatment after forging: pre-heat treatment should be carried out after forging to improve the structure and workability of the forging.

Coarse material processing: rough material processing should be carried out before the heat treatment of forgings, leaving the smallest machining allowance.

Performance heat treatment: Forgings should be quenched and tempered to achieve the required performance.

Mechanical processing after heat treatment: After the mechanical properties are qualified, the forgings are processed to the size and surface roughness specified in the drawings provided by the supplier. However, if the amount of cutting on any surface exceeds the amount of reworking, the pressure must be eliminated.

Stress relief treatment: The stress relief temperature of the forging should be 30° lower than the final tempering temperature, and it should be cooled slowly after heat preservation. If the stress relief temperature is not lower than the tempering temperature of 30°, the mechanical properties of the forging should be retested after the stress is relieved.

Corresponding sealing devices are installed at both ends of the newly developed rolling coupling. On the one hand, its function is to protect the grease (oil) in the bearing from being lost during use to ensure that the bearing is in a lubricated state; on the other hand, it protects the bearing so that external dust or harmful gases will not enter the bearing cavity. This will not cause damage to the bearing.Common seals are rubber or engineering plastics, and steel seals (or dust caps). There are many types of sealing structures, with different sealing effects.Sealing technology is mainly to research and develop corresponding sealing devices used under different working conditions, as well as the compatibility of sealing ring materials and corresponding greases. The main types and characteristics of the coupling and its role in the transmission system.Increasing the power of the grinding wheel drive (transmission) system and increasing the rigidity of the machine tool are important measures to achieve high-speed grinding. Among them, the high-speed spindle unit is a key component of the high-speed grinding machine. In high-speed grinding, the grinding wheel must not only have sufficient strength, but also ensure good grinding performance in order to obtain a higher grinding effect. In addition, the cooling device is also one of the indispensable equipment for high-speed grinding.

Two-axis coupling, flexible coupling of elastic elements, can transmit motion and torque; it has different degrees of axial, radial and angle compensation performance; coupling transmits motion and torque, and overload protection.Flexible couplings also have different levels of compensation performance, including pin type, friction type, magnetic powder type, centrifugal type, hydraulic type and so on.Due to the influence of machining and installation errors, deformation after loading, and temperature changes, the relative position of the two shafts will change, and vibration and cushioning can be reduced to varying degrees.Different elastic materials have different structures, which are quite different. In the transmission system, the roles are not always the same.Strict consistency is often not guaranteed.According to couplings with or without elastic elements, different relative displacement compensation capabilities, flexible joints and couplings.
